I constantly hear people complain about work. ”Is it the weekend yet?” ”Work sucks!” I understand that we all need to work in order to live, but is this really living?
We spend more time at work than anywhere else. Shouldn’t we love what we do? I think that’s the mistake that most people are making. They are not doing what they love. They are doing what they have to do to make money and survive.
I cannot stress enough the importance of working in a profession that is personally rewarding. Writing is extremely rewarding for me. It is something I look forward to. Work should be something we all look forward to.
Have you ever noticed that most happy people truly love their professions? I have done many jobs that I disliked and I noticed that it deeply affected my mood. It affected my happiness. It’s like being in a relationship that makes you cringe. Whenever you think about it, you want to puke.
It is our responsibility to decide what we love. Do you love doing hair and makeup? What makes you happy? Whatever it is, you owe it to yourself to pursue your talents and interests. You will find that you are a much happier person, when you are doing what you love.
