Fresh off of DEMF, Detroit had another electronic fix for those that were left jonesing.  Benny Benassi took over the Fillmore Detroit last Friday and opened up with an unbelievable set that immediately pumped up every single fan in attendance.

For those unfamiliar with Benassi, he is an electro-house DJ and producer from Italy well-known by his worldwide club hit “Satisfaction.”  Other hits include “No Matter What You Do,” “Illusion,” and ”Love Is Gonna Save Us.”  He has also remixed global artists such as David Guetta’s “In Love With Myself,” Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness,” Moby, Paul Oakenfold and Public Enemy. Earning a Grammy for his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring The Noise,” Benassi’s talent continues to win new fans and please current ones with his own style described as electro-house-tec.

Opening DJ Anthony Attalla started the party with an amazing set that led fans into an impressive electronic party once Bennassi took over the stage.  His two-hour set took his fans on an exciting and wild ride in which the fans felt every single electronic beat.  The sounds of Bennassi’s music took them through a wave of  musical emotions.  Fans were also able to experience a musical  illusion as they danced the night away with the vibrant music he had to offer.  The highlight came at the end of the concert when Bennassi delighted his fans with his most popular hits.

His 2010 tour is riding high off of his latest single “Spaceship” that features Kelis, Apl.de.ap and Jean-Baptiste.  Fillmore Detroit witnessed his arrival as fans poured out their excitement and adrenaline all night long.  The Fillmore could not had been a better place for an unbelievable electronic party. Its unique 1920s decor set offered the perfect mix and ambiance for an artist of the 21^st century. The Grand Lobby, with its golden chandeliers adorned the electro-house party of a concert. The lower seating was removed to allow Benassi’s hardcore fans to savor his excellent set for the entire night. And although seating was available once inside Fillmore Detroit, most fans hit the lower floor to enjoy the big electronic dance party.

Bennassi’s commitment to authencity has made him a unique electro-house-tec DJ and producer in the industry—his Detroit performance is no doubt to have shown how he is capable of putting such an amazing  electronic party.  Bennassi pleased his Detroit-based-fans and gained new ones by offering an unforgettable show.
