DP2A releases 100 more Arts & Culture Passports to meet demand after early sell-out

After selling out of an initial allotment of 200 Passports in only 9 days, DP2A’s steering committee of young professionals has decided to make more Passports available to the public. For the limited time of September 1-20, an additional 100 Passports may be purchased for the price of $109.

Each Passport grants its holder admission to six performances accompanied by six exclusive social events featuring activities such as wine and beer tastings, dance lessons, guest speakers and more.

In mid August, prominent Detroit-area arts and culture organizations announced the launch of a new program, Detroit Passport to the Arts (“DP2A”), offering a six-performance cultural Passport at one low price. “During the program’s inaugural season, only 200 Passports will be sold,” stated Natalie Bruno, DP2A’s lead organizer, in an August interview. Now, as August comes to a close, the initial block of 200 Passports has been sold – yet the demand for Passports remains consistent!

“Interest in such performances often increases as the events draw near,” offers Bruno, who is encouraging early purchase of the package. To drive earlier buyer commitment and offset some of the costs of the program’s expansion, each Passport will increase in price to $119 after
September 20th.

Administered by Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings and its partners, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble and the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, DP2A will feature the following organizations and performances during the inaugural 2009-10 season*:

September 25, 2009: Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Isbin Plays Rodrigo

November 13 2009: The Hilberry Theatre, A Midsummer Night’s Dream

March (TBD) 2010: The Detroit Film Theatre of the DIA, Oscar-nominated film shorts

April 10, 2010: Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, Dances from the Heart of Rock ‘n Roll

May 21, 2010: Michigan Opera Theatre, Tosca

June 19, 2010: Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings/Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, Dual season finale

More information about DP2A is available at www.dp2a.org. To purchase a Passport, please visit the website, or call the Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings offices at (248) 559-2095. Passports are expected to sell out fast!
