As Michiganders, we wait all winter long for summer to get here so we can enjoy its warm weather and many activities. This weekend there is lots going on. Get out there and take advantage of what our area has to offer!
Sterlingfest will be taking place in Sterling Heights July 28-30 at Dodge Park. The festival will include a carnival midway, arts & craft fair, children’s activities and music entertainment that includes a U2 tribute band and Aerosmith tribute band.
Pig and Whiskey is taking place in downtown Ferndale on Saturday, July 30 from 12-8pm. There will be food and drink available for purchase from several BBQ restaurants and different types of whiskey available to sample. Live entertainment will include The Detroit Cobras and Dutch Pink. This event will help raise money for Ronald McDonald House.
Maker Faire Detroit will be July 30-31 at The Henry Ford in Dearborn from 9:30am-6:30pm. This interactive fair takes arts, crafts, food, music and science to the next level. The fair is a celebration of creativity that will absolutely amaze you. This year marks the second year celebrating inventors of all ages.
The Arab & Chaldean Festival will be taking place in Detroit’s Hart Plaza July, 30-31. The festival will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and is North America’s largest Arab & Chaldean Festival. There will be plenty to do with music, food, art, fashion show, fortune tellers and a children’s fair on Saturday, July 30.
Take a Diamond Jack River Tour on the Detroit River. Tours are available on Saturday’s at 1:00pm & 3:30pm. You can catch the Diamond Jack at Detroit’s Rivard Plaza or at Bishop Park in Wyandotte. This is a great way to cool off and enjoy a major part of the Great Lakes water ways!
