Repower Michigan Opens State Office:
Supporters Push for Clean Energy, New Jobs

[DEARBORN, MI] – This Thursday, July 30, 2009 the Alliance for Climate Protection will officially open its Repower Michigan state-wide office at 4917 Schaefer Road in Dearborn, to serve as a base for its staff and growing membership across the state. Through its Repower Michigan campaign, the Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, is educating the American people about how shifting to a clean energy economy helps solve the climate crisis and address other pressing national problems facing our country today.

“Michigan families need to know a clean energy economy will create millions of good-paying jobs and save Americans money on their energy bills,” said Repower Michigan’s State Director Luke Canfora. “We at Repower Michigan are extremely excited to open our Dearborn office.”

Repower Michigan has already held more than two dozen events in the state. The new Dearborn office will provide Repower Michigan with a hub to educate state residents about solutions to the climate crisis that can create millions of new jobs, hasten our economic recovery, strengthen our national security, and preserve our planet for future generations. According to a 2008 report by the Center for American Progress, investing $3.1 billion in clean energy and green infrastructure could create 61,000 jobs in Michigan.
