Cheating has always been an interesting topic to me.  I have often wondered why people in relationships cheat.  Why do they feel the need to cheat? The only thing that I can figure is that the cheater is unhappy, likes the excitement or that they have low self-esteem.  No matter why a person cheats, it’s wrong and causes hurt.

Have I ever been cheated on? Sure and I have to tell you that it didn’t feel good.  It made me question myself.  Wasn’t I good enough? Not loving enough? Even though we all sometimes question ourselves, the sad truth is that sometimes people just cheat.  That’s what they do.  Does it end? NO!

Looking back at past relationships, I do not regret them because they brought me to this point.  They taught me lessons, made me stronger and helped me to appreciate all the special things about my husband.  The cheaters showed me exactly what I didn’t want in a partner.

So many people are paranoid at the thought of a cheating partner.  They check emails, phone calls, text messages and, in some extreme cases, follow their partner.  Why? Think of the TV show, Cheaters.  A person with suspicions contacts the show and requests that they spy on their significant others. HELLLLOOOOO….IF YOU HAVE TO CALL THE SHOW TO SPY ON YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER, THEN YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN’T BE WITH THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! The funny thing is that, by the end of the show, after the cheater is videotaped, confronted and caught, the couple usually remains together anyway. So then, what was the point of the whole ordeal?

This is my point: is it really that important to catch your spouse cheating? Honestly, if you’re at this point of your relationship, then you really shouldn’t be together.  Without trust, you have nothing.  What is the worst thing that could happen, if you find out that your partner is cheating? Hopefully, you would break up and move on.  Life does not end because you were cheated on.  You’ll probably find someone much better anyway.  What’s so bad about that? Save the time that you would spend checking up on your mate and have some friends. Life is too short.
